When a brand or distributor asks a factory for a smart lock quotation, the first reply is usually a list of questions. Preparing the answers in advance shortens that loop and makes quotations easier to compare. These are the points our sales team at TENON asks about most often.
1. Who the product is for. Retail shelves, distributor stock, an apartment or hotel project and a developer handover each need different things. Say which channel and market you are buying for.
2. The door. Material, thickness, existing lock body (mortise or tubular), handing and opening direction. Many smart lock mismatches come from the door, not the lock. Photos of the door edge and current lock save several emails.
3. Functions. List the unlock methods you need - fingerprint, code, card, app or mechanical key - and separate must-haves from nice-to-haves. This is what narrows the model choice.
4. Local requirements. If your market or buyers expect specific standards or certificates, name them. Ask the manufacturer to confirm what applies to the exact model you are quoting, not to the range in general.
5. Branding and packaging. Logo position, finish, packaging and manual language. What can be changed differs by model, so confirm it per model before you compare prices.
6. Quantity and timing. An estimated first order, expected annual volume if known, and your target delivery window. A range is enough to start.
How we handle it. Send these details through our quote page. Our team will suggest suitable models from our smart lock and smart door range and confirm the configuration with you. You can also see inside our smart door workshop.
