Fingerprint locks now offer various unlocking methods, including fingerprint, password, card, and emergency key unlocking, and more recently, WeChat unlocking, increasing consumer trust and preference. Many manufacturers integrate a dozen or more functions into their products, such as doorbells, voice prompts, network connectivity, and telephone alarms.
At first glance, users may find this feature-rich and potentially save on unnecessary expenses, which could tempt them. However, I believe this is an irresponsible design by the manufacturers. The primary functions of a fingerprint lock are security and convenience. Besides unlocking, fingerprint locks typically offer functions to add, delete, and clear fingerprints. High-performance fingerprint locks also feature LCD touchscreens and other human-computer interaction systems, offering a higher level of intelligence, easier operation, and providing operation guidance, access to usage records and built-in parameters, and status settings. Fingerprint management functions include adding, deleting, and clearing fingerprints, as well as setting system parameters, among many others, whereas ordinary users only have the unlocking function.
